Empirically, we may find that relationship length is decreasing in attractiveness of the other party, over the range of time during which a lot of hidden characteristics are discovered. Hmm. (Perhaps economists shouldn't do it with models after all).That probably depends on what kind of model you're talking about. After all, Xan's post is a really interesting exposition on matching models. If you're interested in the economics of matching, the entire post is worth a read -- though I admit that I am only through half of the "extensions" section.
